Where It’s Always Midnight and Every day is Halloween.

At least, it should be.

There are stories people write. And there are stories people tell. The Haunted Hour exists somewhere in between.

This is a growing library of original short fiction devoted to ghosts, strange places, old superstitions, impossible events, dark histories, and those quiet moments when the familiar world suddenly becomes something else.

Some stories wander down lonely Appalachian roads. Others wait inside old houses, forgotten towns, deep forests, empty rooms, and places that do not quite belong to the present. There are hauntings here, certainly, but also mysteries, nightmares, folk horror, Gothic tales, psychological horror, weird fiction, and things that resist being given a proper name.

Some are short enough to read in a few minutes. Others may keep you here for most of the Hour.

What they share is atmosphere.

The Haunted Hour is for people who still enjoy turning down the lights for a good ghost story. For those who remember when horror could be eerie without being loud, when the unseen thing at the end of the hallway was often more frightening than whatever eventually stepped into the light.

It is a place for stories best read after dark.
